Plague Ship by Clive Cussler and Jack Du Brul introduces us to a new group of superspies who use the rusty hulk of the Oregon to track terrorists around the world.

They are on a mission to Iran to prove that the Soviets are helping Iran arm themselves with rocket torpedos capable of delivering a nuclear payload when the Golden Dawn’s Revisionist passengers are struck by a virus that kills all aboard but one. When the Oregon crosses her path, Juan Cabrillo decides to investigate and is horrified by what he finds. As they narrow down where the dispersal of the virus originated, scuttling charges go off and the ship literally sinks from underneath them, Cabrillo and his team barely make it off with their lives.

When Max Hanley’s ex wife calls to report their son has been kidnapped by the cult-like group known as the Revisionists, the conicidences are too overwhelming to ignore. Juan and his cadre set out to rescue the young man and get to the bottom of the mysterious virus and the plot the Revisionists are hatching to sterilize half the world.

This was a refreshing change from the long series of Clive Cussler books starring Dirk Pitt. These new characters are just as super-able as Dirk, but have some differing qualities.
