Run for Your Life by James Patterson & Michael Ledwidge

Run for Your Life starts out giving me a feeling of dèjá vu. I’m nearly positive I’ve already read this book.

It’s Mr. Patterson’s signature plot line of maniacal killer gone on a killing spree. He’s sent a manifesto to the Times, killed two people in wildly varying styles within hours and has the New York Police department scrambling to figure out what is going on. Detective Michael Bennet is called in to man the task force assigned to track down the killer.

Detective Bennet is a grieving father of 10 children whos wife Maeve passed away from cancer just months before. He’s trying to hold together his family with the help of his Grandfather Seamus who is also a Catholic priest and his wife’s cousin Mary Catherine but it’s not easy. Especially when they all come down with the flu at the same time.

So, while Mike is finding the psycopath, Mary Catherine and Seamus cope with the sick children and then their lives all intersect in what is a suspensful conclusion to the book.
