The Principles of Beautiful Web Design by Jason Beaird

Posted by Reader

I have several books like this one on a tv stand close to my computer so they are readily available for quick reference.

Another of the great books published by Sitepoint.com, The Principles of Beautiful Web Design by Jason Beaird is the perfect book for the beginner and expert alike in how to design beautiful and functional web sites.

Jason takes you through a best practices form of design process, anatomy, how to achieve balance and plan for flexible rendering of your web page. He covers how to decide on color schemes, use textures and shapes; even which fonts and where and how to use them! He also discusses images; adjusting them, file formats, borders and even touches on photoshop techniques.

It looks like a small book, but inside it’s packed with great ideas, tips, hints and practical suggestions.
